  1. HW 3 - Ch 3 - Role self
    Dear self,
Today I went on my first date with the guy I met online. I am so naive. I have integrity about everything I told him. I was not aware of the menace of meeting a stranger. He was not a legitimate guy. I want to delete his memory from my mind and gain a morale from it.

  2. This week I went on a first date with the person I met in my college. I thought he is a person of integrity. But it was evident he is overtly arrogant and dishonest. I felt he is undermining my ability to be successful. I felt he is a menace to me. I learned a morale by meeting him and deleted him from my phone.

Comments: Fantastic work Swetha! The only word that was not used correctly is “morale”. Your paragraph was very well written as well. There is one correction I would make and it is with the third sentence. You start that sentence with “but”. You could use “but” as a conjunction and connect it to the previous sentence with a comma to make a complex sentence. Total:100 %

  3. Dear self,
Yesterday I met with a girl from the school, and I show up to her with my integrity and intention of being her friend. I try to delete my naïve and show myself as someone very interesting to her. Even though the conversation goes undermined we were able to establish a good friendship since that day.

Comments: Hey Santi! I think this is the first time you divide your paragraph into sentences! That is a great improvement! You did only write 3 sentences, and the goal was 5. Therefore, you still lost a few points for length. The grammar looks good, but you did not use the words “naïve” and “undermined” correctly. Total: 78%

  4. Dear Diary,
I went on my first blind date last week. My best friend had set us up, She told me he is a person of integrity and I naively believed everything she said. While I am an impartial judge of character I found him overtly egoistic and rude. As soon as the date was over I deleted his number.

Comments: Fantastic job Viquarunnisa! You used all of the words correctly. You lost some points for only writing 4 sentences instead of 5. You made one mistake in the first line. You used a comma instead of a period after the words “had set us up”. Everything else looks really good! Total: 97%

  5. Dear self,
A few months ago i went on a date with a guy who seemed to be a person with great morale. He told me that he had just moved to US, so he was so naive and had no know about of nearby places. We talked about so many different things like politics, news etc. In addition, we discussed how difficult it is to practice integrity in today's world and how people have overtly increased criminal activities these days. We discussed many other topics as well. Talking to him made me feel that he was such a nice person that it would be so difficult for me to delete him from my memory.

Comments: Well done Eman! You only had two grammar errors and they were with capital letters and word form (“had no know” should be “had no knowledge”). If you have 2 or less errors, it does not affect your grade. You also used all 5 word correctly! Yay! Total: 93%

  6. Dear Diary,
I went on a date with my best friend. As we knew each other since long time I assumed him as a person of integrity. We had a great time together. When I took his phone to click pictures of ours, he compelled his phone from me. Because of the strange behavior it is overt that I started losing faith in him. I started questioning him about his rude behavior. But he was so lenient he didn't answer to me. However we had a fight and stepped back being together. I want to delete all the memories and good time we had together.

  7. Dear self,
A few months ago, I went on a date.
The date was overt before it gets started with un integrity and un impartial behavior.
She showed her interest to have dinner at Asian restaurant as she has no naive about Asian food, she was vegan which I like too but in the side of steak.
before she cancels my order, I delete her from my friends list, she kept insist to cancel my order. I felt that she undermines me and trying to keep my moral down on 1st date. sometimes bad dates are good to keep you away before it reaches to legitimate issues.

Comments: You have errors in spelling, multiple run on sentences, and a few missing capital letters. As for vocabulary, you did not use “overt” or “naïve” correctly. The way you used “integrity” and “impartial” was not very clear either. But you did use the following words correctly: delete, undermine, morale, and legitimate. Total: 85 %
