Part 1: Log into TownSend Press and complete the following activities from the book Building Vocabulary Skills:

Chapter 1

·       Sentence Check 1

·       Sentence Check 2

·       Final Check



Part 2: This is a writing assignment where you will include at least 3 of the vocabulary words from chapter 1. Your paragraph should be at least 5 sentences long. Pay attention to grammar, punctuation, and overall clarity. At the bottom of your paragraph, please tell me your name which 3 words you used.

Topic – Tell parents that the teenagers in your high school need to stop watching violent TV shows and movies.

    The Parents,
    I would like to bring to your notice that some of the children are involving in violent behavior in school. I want all the parents to acknowledge the seriousness of this problem.I advice that parents prevent children from watching violent Tv shows.As an alternative you can encourage children to watch educational Tv shows that would improve knowledge . If children do not comply with school rules, drastic decisions will be taken to avert them from school.

    Dear students due to violent programs and video games I would like to share an anecdote with everyone when one student consumes every day violent programs and video games for that reason the student never finishes his homework and their parents compel him to never watch tv anymore for this reason this school open a new room for all students to watch education programs this is a comply decision for all the parents and teachers in this school THANKS YOU for listening to me

      Your paragraph is very difficult to read as it is all one long sentence! You are missing periods, capital letters, and commas. As for vocabulary, you did not use “anecdote” and “comply” correctly. You also have a subject-verb error where you added an “s” at the end of “thank” that is not needed. Total: 67%

    Dear parents,
    As a Director of high school, As I am getting a lot of violence and bullying complaints from some students and parents on the daily basis, I Acknowledge and have CONCISE request from all the parents that they do not COMPEL their kids for changing things overnight but AVERT them in APPROPRIATE way from watching violent shows/movies which affects their physical and mental abilities.

    Dear parents,
    Out school teachers compel parent to support them to make our children future bright. Our faculty noticed children are watching too much violent video instead of educational ones which should be averted. We found alternative ideas that would inspire children to be candidly watch educational video to explore their knowledge and that would be graded. So, parents can also acknowledge about their kids watching videos and help us stop kids from watching violent videos on Internet.
